Organized Tour to Rio Caura

Caura River is a right-bank tributary of the Orinoco, about 200km south-west of Ciudad Bolivar. It´s singularly beautiful and picturesque river, graced with islands, beaches and huge granite boulders. It´s cut by rapids and falls, of which Pará Falls are amond Venezuela´s most spectacular waterfalls. For a good part of its course, Caura flows through the rainforest, which is rich in wildlife. The river banks are inhabited by Indian communties, of which the Yekuana is the major group. They are renowned for particularly fine basketry.
